Conversational Spanish Level 1 session 2

Service Description
Students gain an opportunity to engage in an introduction to Spanish virtually, with peers around the world. The participants will learn their numbers, colors, and conversational phrases in Spanish, and much more. Cultural diversity will be shared and experienced throughout the class. Expanded Core Curriculum components addressed by not limited to throughout this class: -Compensatory: technology (braille, JAWS, etc.) The instructor will be using JAWS for all students to hear and learn as they go through the class. The students are encouraged to write the Spanish words in their writing medium (braille, large print, type, etc.) - social Interaction: Students are able to interact with one another in the class, learn how to carry a conversation in Spanish and English with peers and adults. - Self Determination: Students will be expected to connect to Zoom, and check Google Classroom on their own. Introduction to google classroom will provided. - Orientation: Student will be introduced to various Latin or Spanish speaking countries around the world. Academic credits are not able to be acquired at this time per state guidelines. Perfect for students with or without screen reading experience. Classes will be held virtually 2 times a week for 5 weeks. Jordana, instructor, is a blind Spanish speaking Teacher of Students with a Visual Impairment originally from Ecuador living in Idaho. Classes start August 11- September 15, 2020 * No class on September 4th One time fee of $150/ participant, minimum of 5 participants Class is scheduled for Tuesday & Friday 11:15-12:15 Pacific Time. Please note all class times are Alaska Time. 10 am: Alaska 11 am: Pacific 12 pm: Mountain 1 pm: Central 2 pm: Eastern * Please note we must have a minimum of 3 participants, or the class will be cancelled and refunds will be provided.
